Day 8 back to nature

away from the city, back to the nature. weather may not be at its best, you just manage to eat your lunch
spend a little bit of time at the beach and the clouds are building up
but it doesn't spoil your mood. in fact, it's a new experience to swim in the rain.  you feel like a fish again, able to swim, turn, dive freely. yes, freedom is what you feel! when you floating on back stroke, you look at the sky, watching the cloud changing and you know the nature belongs to the Lord. the land is His.
and then you go back to the room, it's a bit of distance from the main reception and the pool...

the room is spacious but a little run down, perhaps lack of maintenance or perhaps lack of occupancy rate, you don't know. you could have a sea view but the palm or coconut trees at your balcony just manage to block the sea view.... you can't complain as you did book for just a borneo room.

you thought there'll be no sunset for you today, not that the sun doesn't set, it's just the setting is at the sunset bar, it's still drizzling and hence you don't mind to give it a skip. In fact you enjoy sipping your coffee at the veranda, overlooking the pool. this is the first time you feel comfortable sitting outside (not in the air condition) and not feeling murky or sticky. you begin to feel comfortable here in borneo.

the rain did stop, so you did had a quick glimpse of sunset at karambunai, not spectacular but it's okay, it's just a gentle reminder to yourself that from the rising of the sun, to the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised!

the architecture of the main building is like a giant long house
and the chandeliers were amazing in the evening when it lit up and you can clearly see the beams of the roof.
the resort is not packed at dinner time, you decided to try the buffet dinner as you're enticed by these cakes, but the truth is none of these cakes edible at all. they are colorful as overdose with artificial color.
you're playing safe by sampling the local kuih as dessert and even then you're deeply disappointed by the texture and taste.  if they can't get the local dishes correct, what more you can imagine with the international variety.... in short, expensive and bad dinner experience.
there isn't much entertainment in this resort, no live band performing either, but you enjoyed 2 games of pool in a casual settings. you're totally relaxed and that's all matter.
